The Ministry of Health reports, since the last research published in 2017, that 141,878 deaths were recorded due to the condition or causes related to hypertension in Brazil. That is, 388.7 per day. Also according to the folder, 37% of these early deaths are people under the age of 70. Faced with this situation, a group made up of cardiologists from various parts of Brazil launched a application free tool that monitors the blood pressure of hypertensive patients. AMPA (Blood Pressure Self-Measurement), from the company Beliva, is now available for IOS and Android.

“Therefore, AMPA appears to be an effective way to help doctors control high blood pressure remotely. The application also allows communication between professional and patient. But it's worth highlighting: anyone can search for and download the tool. The APP allows the patient to enter data from measurements taken with their own device at home and receive data from these measurements. Once this is ready, you can submit them for evaluation by your trusted doctor.”, explains one of the creators, Audes Feitosa. In Brazil, more than 1,000 cardiologist clinics are served by the company Beliva.

With the possibility of remote control by the doctor, the gains for professional and patient are very variable. For example, when measuring and recording records daily, it can be used to monitor reactions to certain medications. Furthermore, conversations are archived in a specific location, making everything more organized and dynamic. Not to mention that the consolidation of this habit of control positively interferes with adherence to treatment and blood pressure control.

Through the most innovative products on the market, we are able to support a service that is essential for the prevention and assessment of blood pressure”, adds Cunha.

The cardiologists responsible for AMPA are spread across six Brazilian states – Pernambuco, Alagoas, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and Goiás.
