The messaging app's new feature aims to provide greater privacy control for its users, providing yet another option in the settings.
The screenshot blocking function is still only available to users who are members of the Google Play Beta program, a testing program.
This new feature will block screenshots, not allowing other users to take screenshots of videos and photos in conversations.
So far, the feature only blocks prints for single preview images, with other images being free for prints.
The feature works as follows: when a user tries to take a print of a single view image when the other user has activated the block, the print will produce a darkened image. Another feature of the feature is blocking third-party extensions that try to circumvent the app's security rules.
The user will also have full control over the feature activation and deactivation screen capture lock, bringing greater control possibilities.
However, it is worth noting that the feature does not make it impossible for another user to take photos of the screen with another cell phone or camera.
When will the new feature be officially released?
At the moment, as already mentioned, the new print blocking feature is only available for the beta version of WhatsApp, the testing version, being only on Android system, bringing the app to version 2.22.22.3.
Thus, users enrolled in this testing program use the resource and provide feedback to the developers, who can then, if necessary, make improvements before releasing it to the public.
The release date for the general public of the no resources has not yet been announced by the Meta group, but, generally, this does not take long to happen. It is known that, before the feature is officially launched in the stable version of the app, it must undergo testing in the version of iOS system.
When this new print blocking feature was announced in August by Zuckerberg, they jointly announced two more resources: the ability to view lists of previous participants in groups and the ability to hide their online status.
